Hyderabad : Telangana Congress, its senior leader M Sasidhar Reddy is reportedly in talks with the Bharatiya Janata Party with intent to contest from the Sanathnagar Assembly constituency, which would fall vacant if the resignation of Commercial Taxes Minister T Srinivasa Yadav’ is accepted. For the grand old party, struggling to stop exodus from the organization, this could be a body blow, sources said.
Sasidhar Reddy, a three-time MLA from Sanathnagar, has strong bonds with the constituency as his father and former chief minister M Channa Reddy had also represented it.
The BJP had supported the Minister, who won from Sanathnagar in the last Assembly elections on Telugu Desam Party ticket. The saffron party is somewhat weak in the constituency and may throw open its candidature to “any strong leader from outside”.
