Hyderabad : Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy on Sunday flagged off the new fleet of police vehicles that were sanctioned to the 600 police stations of Telangana by the State government. The minister said that it was for the first time in India, that a State government had taken initiatives to develop friendly policing and provide several facilities to the Police Department.He said that the ‘Hawk Eye’ application launched by the city police was very useful for the public and they would like to extend the services of the application across the State.
During the occasion at People’s Plaza, he said that the government had sanctioned Rs 93.51 crore to the department to improvise the tools used to curb cybercrime and law and order. About Rs 69.59 crore was sanctioned to upgrade all the police stations and install CCTVs in the city. The minister said that the new fleet consisting of 565 vehicles include 290 Boleros, 260 Sumos would be distributed among all the police stations and the 15 Innovas would be given to the newly formed ‘Warangal police commissionerate’.
