Hyderabad: Notwithstanding the claims of the State government on containing swine flu epidemic, 35 fresh swine flu cases were reported in a single day on Sunday in different parts of Telangana on Sunday. Doctors, however, claimed that no fresh death has reported in the last 48 hours. The 35 cases were among the 82 samples tested while another 112 samples are in the process of being tested, L Narendranath, Director of state-run Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) told reporters.
However, suspense continued over the swab test results of three second-year MBBS students from Osmania Medical College (OMC) whose samples were sent for test. Their nasal and throat swab samples for analysis to Institute of Preventive Medicine (IMP). Four medicos have already tested positive for swine flu earlier in the week. The NIMS director claimed that effective measures were being taken to contain the spread of the disease in the state.
