Fresh from victory in Secunderabad Cantonment Board elections, Telangana Rashtra Samithi has now decided to focus on Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). A meeting of available ministers and party leaders met here at the party office Telangana Bhavan on Friday and reportedly cleared the name of Mynampally Hanumanth Rao as party’s GHMC president.
Though it was not clear as to when elections to GHMC would take place, the party has shortlisted four city ministers to carry forward the TRS agenda during the elections. According to sources, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao expressed confidence on winning the GHMC elections and went on to say that the next mayor would be from the TRS. Sources said that minister T Padma Rao suggested the name of Mynampally for the Greater Hyderabad post. When the Chief Minister asked T Srinivas Yadav for his advice, the minister said he had no objection, added sources.
