Hyderabad : Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday showered gifts on Malayali community from the city and announced that the State government would allot one acre prime land in Mahendra Hills for the construction of Kerala Bhavan. He also said that the Telangana government would give Rs1 crore for the construction of the Bhavan and promised to sanction house sites to poor Malayali families in the State.
“Malayali people are an integral part of the State. They also played a crucial role in the Telangana agitation,” he said while addressing a gathering at Keralaeeyam-2015 festival in the city. He also urged the Kerala government to come forward to fund the construction of Kerala Bhavan in the city.Rao revealed that the Kerala State government had allotted 5 acres of land in Sabarimala for the construction of Telangana Bhavan to provide boarding and lodging facilities to Ayyappa devotees from the State. He thanked Kerala Chief Minister Oomen Chandy for the allotment of the land.
