Traffic cops continue to fleece motorist in cityHyderabad : Traffic policemen in Hyderabad and Secunderabad continue to fleece motorists in the name of checking vehicle documents and driving licenses, despite traffic additional commissioner Jitender clarifying that personnel below the rank of SI were not authorized to stop vehicles for checking documents.
With the advent of cashless enforcement for traffic violations, several traffic personnel who are used to fleecing motorists are on an overdrive ever since the city police announced that it would introduce body cameras to improve the performance of traffic SIs and keep a tab on them while rendering citizen-friendly services.
The 350 CCTV cameras installed by the city and Cyberabad police were covering only 227 major junctions in the twin commissionerates and however few of them every day become non-functional due to various technical issues. One could notice the malfunctioned CCTVs in the cabin of additional commissioner of traffic, where live traffic of about the traffic junctions is monitored.
