Hyderabad : With the weathermen forecasting a surge in mercury levels in Hyderabad over the next fortnight, power cuts across the State may come sooner than expected with the increased use of heavy load-drawing appliances like air-conditioners and refrigerators.While former Energy Minister C Lakshma Reddy said last month that power cuts would be inevitable from March due in increase in demand from agriculture sector during the current Rabi season, residents of many parts of the city have already started experiencing the heat of load shedding. While some complain that the outages have been unannounced and intermittent, others say that power cuts are often more than what was notified to them by the authorities. Several areas in the city including Begumpet, LB Nagar, Ibrahimpatnam, Malkajgiri, Dilsukhnagar, Mansurabad and Falaknuma have reported blackouts at for varying periods at different times during the day. “We have been facing three-hour power cuts for the past one week.
