Hyderabad: The government has given administrative sanction for Rs 1,518 crore to Water Grid and Rs 14,350 crore to Palamuru – Ranga Reddy lift irrigation schemes as Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao signed related files. The officials have submitted the report pertaining to the Water Grid programme works in 26 segments of nine districts of the state.
The government has sanctioned Rs 1,518 crore for the first phase works of 14 segments. With the funds, construction of intake wells, water treatment plants, raw water pumping main and high-tension power supply lines will be taken up.
Government has allotted 39 tmc of water for the WG from Krishna and Godavari Basins. On the other hand, first phase works of Palamuru – Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme will be taken up at a cost of Rs 14,350 crore. Water will be lifted from Jurala to Koilakonda of Mahabubnagar district.
