Uttam Kumar Reddy takes over Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee reins
Hyderabad : Four-time Congress legislator Uttam Kumar Reddy on Sunday took charge as president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) while Madira MLA Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka assumed charge as TPCC working president. Before taking charge, Uttam Kumar Reddy came in a procession with a large number of party leaders and workers to the state party headquarters Gandhi Bhavan from his residence. On the way, he called on his predecessor and former minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah at his residence.
It may be mentioned that AICC president Sonia Gandhi replaced Ponnala Lakshmaiah with Uttam Kumar Reddy as TPCC president. The Huzurnagar MLA is noted for having cordial relations with national leaders which got him the top post in the state. Meanwhile, former TPCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Sunday dubbed Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao as a novice in terms of governance.
Lakshmaiah took a dig at the Chief Minister for offering ‘mad’ rule like that witnessed under ‘Tuglaq’. “KCR is inexperienced and his government could not deliver to people,” he charged. Ponnala congratulated his successor Uttam Kumar Reddy and M Bhatti Vikramarka.
