Quick bail, no jail for Salman
In a huge relief to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, the Bombay High Court on Friday suspended the Session Court’s verdict in the sensational ‘hit-and-run’ case and also granted him conditional bail. The single-judge bench of Justice Abhay Thipsay suspended the five-year jail term after hearing arguments from both sides and stated that the case can be heard in the month of July or August.
The High Court gave liberty to Salman of travelling abroad, but with a prior permission from the court. Following the High Court directions, Salman surrendered before the Sessions Court and executed bail bond for Rs 30,000, besides surrendering his passport. He returned home amidst tumultuous welcome from his fans.

It can only happen in India!
Where else you find people rallying around those who are convicted by the courts for criminal offences? Where else you find the accused who were remanded to the judicial custody showing thumbs-up signal before entering the prison and while coming out of it? If the convict happens to be a celebrity, the support he or she enjoys is unlimited. And this can, again, happen only in India! Let us be proud being Indians. Being criminal, convicted is different from being Salman.
