The 62nd Filmfare Awards has been being held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai on Friday night, 26 June. The awards are presented by the Times Group and it is an annual event that unities the four South film industries (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada). The awards has been given in over 45 categories in four languages. The programme was hosted by singer Chinmayi Sripada and her husband, actor Rahul Ravindran.
"Manam" has won four coveted awards such as Best Film, Best Director, Best Music Director and Best Lyricist. "Race Gurram" has landed in the second spot in the Telugu winners list with three coveted awards. Other movies such as "Legend", "Chandamama Kathalu" and "Oohalu Gusagusalade" have bagged one award each.
A host of stars from Tollywood including Akkineni Nagarjuna, Allu Arjun, Allu Arvind, Jayaprada, Radhika, Lakshmi Manchu, Shruti Haasan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Pooja Hegde, Pranitha, Nikki Galrani, Sanjjanaa, Catherine Tresa, Shreya Ghoshal and others were present on the occasion.
