New Delhi: A countrywide survey conducted by a news channel on Narendra Modi's performance in first six months of his regime has given a thumbs-up on his promise of “Achche Din”, but is sceptical about his assurance to bring back black money stashed in foreign banks. As many as 63 per cent of the 15,000 people surveyed across India said Modi had delivered on his promise of “Achche Din”.
Of all the states, people of Uttar Pradesh seemed most impressed with Modi’s performance: 94 per cent of the people surveyed in UP said that Modi’s promise of “Achche Din” was fulfilled. However, on the issue of black money, the response was mixed. A majority of the respondents (51 per cent to be precise) felt that in the first six months, it did not appear that black money stashed in foreign banks could be brought back to India. Interestingly, in Modi’s home state of Gujarat, 65 per cent of the respondents said that it did not appear in the first six months that black money could be brought back to India.
