The Mumbai-based company is fighting a case in Madhapur civil court on charges of luring people in to the scheme for its own benefit.
An advocate representing the drivers K Sai Krishna said that the cab company chose an inappropriate way to run the company in the city. “They have totally misled them on the government order for the driver-cum-owner scheme (GO MS 295),” he said. “The agreement signed by the drivers doesn’t state that the driver can own a vehicle after their all payments on installments, as published in the advertisements and company brochures,” he alleged.

‘Cong trying to block development’
Hyderabad: Accusing the Congress of spreading lies on Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior BJP leader N Indrasena Reddy said that the Congress’s sole agenda was to development that the Centre was bringing about in the country.
"If Congress does not realise its mistakes, similar humiliation would follow elsewhere also"
Addressing a press conference, Reddy said that Congress was jealous about the plaudits the BJP led NDA government was receiving across the world and therefore decided to use its majority in the Rajya Sabha as a weapon to block development. “Our government is trying to improve the economic situation and reenergise the country after a decade of corrupt Congress rule. Instead of helping us in this endeavor, the Congress is blocking development,” he accused. The senior leader said that Congress was unable to digest its defeat in this year’s general elections. He warned that if it did not realise its mistakes, similar humiliation would follow elsewhere also. “Even in state legislature elections, the Congress is slipping away,” remarked Reddy.
Reddy accused the Congress of spreading lies and false statements in its booklet ‘Modi’s U-turn’, which claimed that the BJP government was going back on its word in several issues. Charting out the BJP government’s achievements in the past six months, he said that the GDP increased to 5.6 per cent, while prices were constantly falling. Attributing this to the PM’s efforts to lure global investors, he said that the government was committed to providing development and opportunities to all. Progress was also being made on issues like bringing back black money, separate courts for politicians and other promises made by the party before elections.

HMDA clueless on the displaced figures
The officials of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) appear to be aloof and oblivious of the developments in their own wing. In a fresh instance, which exposes the callous attitude of the officials towards the public funds, the authorities had given vague answers to an RTI query which sought specific information from the Infrastructure Development Body.
The question was related to the details of exact number of land owners affected by prestigious Outer Ring Road (ORR) Project, which has reached the completion stage. In response, the officials did not bother about giving the exact details and confined themselves to vague answers.
They said that ‘an approximate’ 13,476 land owners were affected by the project. The officials failed to give the exact number as they are clueless about it. Surprisingly, the officials also did not have the exact number of the land owners they had compensated so far. The HMDA officials in their RTI reply stated that of the total 13,476 land owners affected, ‘an approximate’ 12,034 were compensated so far.
‘Vinayak Sagar’ may have to wait

Hussain Sagar |
“No work related to the construction of the Vinayak Sagar Lake has been commenced so far. There is no direction from the State government on the issue, despite the fact that CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao had made his intentions clear long back on building the lake. We are waiting for the government’s orders to commence the works. We cannot complete the works before the upcoming Ganesh immersion as there is very little time left,” a senior official from GHMC’s engineering wing told Metro India.
The official further added that lack of political consensus, so far, on the issue may delay the project further. “There is no political consensus on the issue as some political parties deem it very sensitive to hurriedly take a call. The CM had already taken an initiative by holding an all-party meeting on the issue. This evolvement of the political consensus holds the key for the commencement of the project,” he noted. Another official said that the process of building the Vinayak Sagar lake, which was conceived as an alternative lake to Hussain Sagar for holding the annual Ganesh immersion programme, involved different stages.
“The process involves carrying out of detailed survey at Indira Park to earmark the boundaries of the lake first. After this stage, the process of preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPR) would be taken up along with budget proposals for the government’s approval. Later, we will invite tenders to commence the construction process,” he said. It may be noted here, the Telangana government had taken the decision of constructing the Vinayak Sagar Lake after CM KCR took stock of the status of Hussain Sagar Lake personally. KCR was so moved by the pollution levels of the Lake that he immediately came up with the idea of putting in place an alternative venue for the Ganesh immersion programme. He directed the officials to take steps for the realization of his plan immediately. He asked the officials to use the existing water of the Hussain Sagar lake for filling up of the proposed lake and hold the immersion programme in it.
